HOTEL DU CAP
In the foyer to the Hotel du Cap is an installation of Novaro glass people welcoming the guests. But I have to say that nothing rivaled the welcome we received when we showed up with Jean-Claude himself. Kate loved the glass elevator at the Hotel du Cap. We spent a lot of time riding up and down just to see where it would go. Ben had a lot of fun swimming in the pool carved into the cliffside, but we were most proud of him for swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. Until now, Ben has been unsure of swimming in open water. For one, he wasn’t thrilled to be out so deep, and he also didn’t like to think about what might be swimming around underneath him. It probably didn’t make it much easier for him to start in the crystal clear 40-foot deep waters off of Hotel du Cap, where you can see many fish swimming near the bottom. But I have to hand it to him. He braved it out. He swam all the way out to the diving platform (farther than it looks in this photo) and became quite comfortable in the sea. Barry and I are really proud. Barry had a lot of fun, too. He especially liked jumping off the cliffs and monkeying around on the trapeze-like rope structure jutting out over the water. And here’s one for Lou and Wade: The women at the hotel were pretty spectacular, too.
